My name is Jac Woods and I was brought up in Lancashire, in the North West. Northern people are known to be warm, salt of the earth types with an inimitable sense of humour. I was educated there and moved to London to follow a career in parliamentary work in my 20’s and 30's. Here I learned to write, edit and work to deadlines.
I moved to Brighton, or London by the Sea, embracing all of its diversity and vibrancy. I met my Partner, Mills, and we set off in our camper van to travel and settled in France for about 5 years. We returned to live and work in Sussex and have now settled in Worthing, where we live happily with our three dogs.
I am an experienced event manager and also enjoyed my role as a coach and mentor, both of which prepared me well for life as a celebrant.
After leading the eulogy at the funeral of a very dear friend, I decided to train to be an independent celebrant as I saw first hand the difference a good celebrant makes to our loved ones.
I am committed to the belief that all people irrespective of gender, sexuality, race, class, culture or disability are worthy of celebration. My aim is to offer welcoming and inclusive ceremonies throughout life.
"Jac has always brought out the best in me with an authenticity that involves a lot of laughter, love, reflection and a celebration of the simple joy of being alive."
- Robin Carter-Stuart
"Jac has all the qualities I’m looking for in a celebrant; kindness, honesty, a good listener and communicator, well organised, down to earth and a warm people person who will do her absolute best for you.”
- Julia Kent
