About me
How lovely to meet you! I’m Jac Woods and I was brought up in Lancashire, in the North West. Northern people are known to be warm, salt of the earth types with an inimitable sense of humour. I was educated there and moved to London to follow a career in parliamentary work in my 20’s and 30's. Here I crafted my skills listening, writing and presenting.
I moved to Brighton, embracing all of its diversity and vibrancy. I met my Partner, Mills, and after a while we set off in our camper van to travel and settled in France for about 5 years. We returned to live and work in Sussex and have now settled in Worthing, where we live happily with our three dogs. We still have Freddie, the camper van!
I am an experienced event manager and also enjoyed my role as a coach and mentor in business, both of which prepared me well for life as a celebrant.
The experience of losing a very special friend helped me make the decision to train to be independent celebrant. I love everything about being a celebrant and consider it a huge privilege.
I embrace the opportunity to work with every type of person. My aim is to offer welcoming and inclusive ceremonies throughout life.
I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC) which sets a high benchmark for professional standards and ethics for its Celebrants. They also provide my Public Liability insurance and complementary emotional support and Counselling for my clients, completely free of charge.
