Rituals can add to the spectacle of the event, bring colour, add richness and reflect special values. They also offer an excellent photo opportunity.
Couples sometimes already have parts of the ceremony clear in their own minds, and I can explore a whole range of options with you as your celebrant. Working together and understanding who you are as individuals and as a couple is just one of the excitements in planning your big day.
The ceremonies below are an introduction to such mini-ceremonies and are by no means exhaustive. Remember there are no rules only the ones we choose

The ceremony of the Loving Cup has its roots in Celtic tradition. The Quaich or cup is often shared by the couple after the exchange of vows and rings. This is a magical part of the wedding or partnership ceremony, where each toasts their love, life and union before friends and family. It signifies their first drink together as a married couple.
The Celtic Loving Cup ceremony is simply a beautiful ritual within a marriage ceremony. It offers colour and energy and is inclusive of family.

This involves three candles; one held by each partner and then one which will stand alone. Often the couple design their own Unity Candle with names and the wedding date.
At the ceremony, the couple each take a lit candle and together light their “unity candle”. This symbolises their joining together as a couple while maintaining their individuality. As the candles come together the light created by the joining the flames is far brighter than a single candle, demonstrating the strength of the union.
